Preparing for the first session:
After connecting the headset to the computer, please go here to test your system, sound, and headset. Testing is simple (click on the icons) and only takes a couple of minutes unless there is a problem. Most of the time, problems have to do with the sound or microphone and are quick and easy to correct. For problems with the sound or microphone on Windows XP, check that the headset is correctly connected to your computer. If your headset has a volume control, check that it is set to allow sound.
For sound problems, click on Start -> Control Panel -> Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices -> Sounds and Audio Devices. In the new window, if mute is checked, remove the checkmark You might also want to move the slide indicator to a higher volume. Click on Speaker Volume. If necessary, move the slide indicators for each speaker to a higher volume. Click on ok in the two windows that are open. Retest the sound.
For microphone problems, checking that the headset is connected to the computer correctly and that the volume control on the headset is not off should correct the issues.
If there are issues that persist, please contact Deb for help.
